Peta Anderson

Counselling Psychologist 

Peta is an experienced and qualified Endorsed Counselling Psychologist who has been working in the Mental Health field for the past 23 years in various roles within the Public and Private Health Sector as well as other Government and Non-Government organisations. Peta is warm, empathic and committed to providing client-centred evidence based therapeutic support to all her clients and their families. She provides Counselling and Psychotherapy for anxiety, depression, life transitions, and trauma. With the last 12 years having a special interest and further training specifically in antenatal and postnatal anxiety and depression, grief and loss, trauma, perinatal, infant and paediatric mental health at St John of God Private and Public Hospitals Midland, St John of God Raphael Services Fremantle, and Ngala.

 

Experience

 

Peta has extensive experience in developing programs and providing psychotherapy across a diverse range of areas, including: perinatal counselling services, parent-child conflict, adolescents transitioning from departmental care, at risk youth, and adolescents and adults in the justice system. She works from an integrated framework of interventions inclusive of Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Emotion Focussed Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, and Attachment Focussed techniques Peta has over a decade of experience delivering group psychotherapy programs, has presented at conferences for group work facilitated at Ngala and Raphael Services, and has had outcomes of her facilitation of therapeutic group work programs at Ngala published.

 

Peta has previously provided consultation, training, supervision and mental health workshops to health professionals, students and organisations. She is currently a registered supervisor with AHPRA, and has provided reflective supervision to Staff members and Masters of Psychology Students. Peta is also an Accredited Facilitator of the Circle of Security© (COS) Attachment Based Parenting Program.

Kylie Coventry

Counselling Psychologist 

Kylie is a registered and endorsed Counselling Psychologist with 25 years experience in providing assessment and treatment for individuals, couples and families encountering personal and/or interpersonal difficulties – from relationship problems through to complex psychological conditions. Kylie is a registered provider with Medicare and most private health funds. In addition, she is a recognized provider for workers’ compensation adjustment counselling and for motor vehicle accidents covered by the Western Australian Insurance Commission.

 

Kylie’s areas of interest and expertise include depression, anxiety, trauma-related disorders (PTSD), grief and loss, parenting, relationship counselling, ageing/life transitions, conflict management, LGBTQI, self-esteem/self-confidence issues and stress management. Kylie also has a particular interest and further training in perinatal and infant mental health and provides counselling for both Mums and Dads with a focus on the parent-child relationship from infancy to adolescence.

 

In addition to her therapeutic practice, Kylie is a registered facilitator with the Beyondblue National Workplace Program and an Accredited Educator of the Circle of Security© (COS) attachment-based parenting program.

Dr Catriona Davis-McCabe

Counselling Psychologist 

Catriona is a qualified and experienced Counselling Psychologist based in Applecross, Perth, Western Australia. She offers assessment, formulation and treatment for a full range of mental health issues. Catriona specialises in Counselling/Psychotherapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Clinical Hypnotherapy and Clinical Supervision.

Dr. Catriona Davis-McCabe works for a local university in Perth where she is a Senior Lecturer and Researcher. She also runs her own private practice in Applecross.

Catriona originally trained in the UK and has worked extensively in the psychology field within the health department, private sector and voluntary sector. She has worked as a Counselling Psychologist in a variety of settings: teaching and research on a doctoral programme, a family counselling service, a specialist CBT rehab service, a domestic violence refuge, a young persons' residential unit, a drug and alcohol service, HM Prisons throughout the North East of England, a university counselling service, an NHS psychotherapy service, and as the Clinical Director of a private practice for over 8 years. Catriona has significant experience providing expert assessments and reports for the court.

Counselling Psychologist Registrar

Jonathan O'Neill

Jonathan is a Counselling Psychologist Registrar and has worked in the field of therapeutic services since 2002 in both public and private health sectors, as well as with community non-government organizations.

Jonathan works from a client-centred approach and is skilled in supporting clients and their families.

 

Jonathan’s influences and interventions include interpersonal therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy, EMDR, imagery descripting, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and attachment theory. In particular, Jonathan has spent much of his career working with clients who are often reluctant to engage in therapy including adolescents and young adults.

 

Jonathan’s areas of interest and expertise include depression, anxiety, alcohol & substance use, grief & loss, sexuality & gender, sexual health, self-harm and/or suicide, and trauma. Jonathan also works in the field of group therapy and is a skilled educator/trainer.

Matthew Roberts

Counselling Psychologist Registrar

Matthew Roberts is a Counselling Psychologist Registrar, a member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS) and a member of the Australian Counselling Psychologists. He is currently undertaking a PhD (Psychology) researching gender-identity related issues.  As a Psychologist, Matthew has experience working in a private psychiatric hospital with a diverse range of inpatient and outpatient clients, both individually and in group therapy. Matthew has worked with young people and their families in national publically funded organizations, and with individuals and couples in a multidisciplinary health clinic.

 

Matthew practices from an individual and client-centred approach to offer treatment with a full-range of mental health issues. He adopts an integrative therapy method to conceptualize, formulate and provide the most suitable therapy to enact lasting results for clients. He has experience using and will integrate, Psychodynamic, Cognitive-Behavioural, Schema, EMDR, Interpersonal and Existential therapy techniques collaboratively with his clients to help them achieve their desired outcomes.

Counselling Psychologist Registrar 

Gosia Stasinski

Gosia is a Counselling Psychology Registrar who provides psychological therapy to a variety of clients across the lifespan. She has worked in the mental health field since 2002, becoming fully registered as a psychologist in 2006. She has a Masters in Psychology (Counselling Psychology) from Curtin University and is an AHPRA Board-approved supervisor.

 

Gosia has worked across a range of settings including in the private and public sectors. Her employment has included working with students at TAFE, with asylum seekers in detention, in private organisations and for the Department of Justice (Corrective Services). She currently specialises in psychological assessments for Court. Gosia has assisted clients from various cultures and ages, as well as in individual, couple, family and group settings.

 

Gosia’s experience includes assisting clients affected by trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, personality disorders and relationship and identity issues. Her approach is integrative, evidence based and responsive to client needs.

 

Gosia’s influences include psychodynamic psychotherapy, attachment theory, client-focussed and interpersonal modalities, cognitive behavioural therapy, emotion focussed therapy, and mindfulness/relaxation techniques. She aims to foster a safe environment in which clients feel supported and accepted, allowing for a natural unfolding of the therapy process and the integration of the person. Gosia also provides services in the Polish language.
